4/6/2008 - LeeAnn Miele Synchronized Invitational Results Posted
    The results for the final competiton of the 2007-2008 season has been posted. Both the Intermediate and Pre-Juvenile teams competed skating a wonderful show. The Intermediate Team took third place and the Pre-Juvenile team took fifth. Our travel coordinator picked a superb Hotel, as it was the cleanest hotel I have ever been to. The schedule for this event did not lend itself well to a group get together so basically no social events occurred although it was still a fun event. Click here for event video.. 4/6/2008 - Tucker Road Annapolis ISI Competition Pictures Posted
    Pictures have been received from several folks covering the Annapolis ISI Competition. Both the Pre-Juvenile and Beginner teams competed. The Pre-Juvenile Team took third place and the Tiny Toepicks took second, great job girls.Sorry no video received for this event yet. Click here for event photos..
3/19/2008 - LeeAnn Miele Synchronized Invitational Schedule Posted
    Updated schedule information for the LeeAnn Miele Synchronized Invitational has been posted including directions (Calendar). Hotel information can be found on the Members page. For those planning on traveling on Friday 28 March, note the drive time is 4 hours 40 minutes, NOT accounting for typical Friday traffic. Please plan accordingly.

2/18/2008 - Try Outs for National Blades and Toe Pick Schedule
    Below is the schedule for try-outs for the 08-09 National Blades and Toe Pick teams. The cost will be $25 for each try-out and all will occur at Skate Quest, Dale City.

    Thursday April 10th 5:15pm
    Thursday April 17th 5:15 pm
    Wednesday April 30th 5:30 pm
    Sunday May 4th and 18th 5:00 pm
    Sunday June 8th and 22nd 5:00 pm

    Work on new 08-09 programs will begin on Wednesday April 30th at Skate Quest.

    National Blades 08-09 Program Camp: August 26-29 5:00-7:20 pm
    (Additional week/times may be added, stay tuned).
1/25/2008 - 2008 Eastern Sectional Championships Results are posted!
1/6/2008 - Colonial Classic Results are posted!
    The National Blades team performed the "Dirty Dancing" routine their best yet in Lowell, Mass at the Colonial Classic, click here to see video. Their hard work showed measurable improvements since the last competition, great job girls!!! But as in the last meet, the competition was excellent. The blades scored 31.89, placing them 10th out of 11 teams. With only a couple of weeks until Easterns, the girls will be busy putting the final refinements into the routine with hopes of placing in the top four so that they can continue to the Nationals.
12/3/2007 - Ann Arbor, MI Results are in!
    It is clear that everyone had a good time up in Ann Arbor, MI for the Dr. Porter Synchronized Classic Competition. The intermediate competition was very strong; in fact some believe that several of the teams could have competed at the senior level. The National Blades skated their best landing a 10th place slot out of 14 teams, click here to see video. Great job ladies! Now that we can see the other teams strengths and our weaknesses its back to practicing for the next competitive event the Colonial Classic in Lowell, MA, click here for details.
11/21/2007 - Getting Ready for Ann Arbor, MI
    Schedule details for the up coming Ann Arbor, MI competition have been posted here. To avoid skates being lost in airline luggage, Mrs. Campbell has graciously agreed to transport the girl's skates to Michigan in her vehicle. Bring your skates, in the red National Blades shoulder bag, to the Wednesday night off-ice and give them to her. Individuals will be responsible for getting their skates home.
11/18/2007 - USFS Judges and Technical Specialists Critique
    The girls skated great for our first formal demonstration of the season. The event took place at Kettler Capitals Iceplex Arlington,VA. Many of the parents that watched the performance agreed that the second perform was near perfection for this point in the season. Great job ladies! Click here to see the video.
09/06/2007 - First Official Team Practice of the Season
    Our first practice will be this Sunday, September 9, 2007, at Skatequest Prince William at 5:30PM. There will be no Wednesday off-ice this week, and no Friday practices until October. This Sunday we will be meeting 1/2 hour early to take pictures for the Dr. Porter competition. Please wear your Dirty Dancing Shirts and National Blades shorts.
08/20/2007 - Summer Synchro Camp
    Summer Synchro Camp for all National Blades Skaters will be held August 27-31, 2007 from 9 am -11:30 am at SkateQuest. There will be off-ice and on-ice so bring or wear tennis shoes and bring skates. This is included in your dues, so no extra money is required. If anyone needs a ride to or from camp, please let Mrs. Napes know. We don't want anyone to miss this event because they need a ride. Also, There are two competition forms that need to be signed by parents next week. If you are dropping off or picking up your girls next week, please stop by and sign the forms. Mrs. Mapes will be at the rink every day but Friday with the forms and will leave the forms with another parent on Friday.
08/20/2007 - Renewing USFS Membership
    Everyone should have renewed their USFS membership and received their new card. Please provide Mrs. Mapes a copy of your new card when you get a chance. If you have not renewed, please do so right away! You can get the form on the "Washington Figure Skating Club Website", under forms.
07/31/2007 - Coach Marina is a new mother!
    Coach Marina will be staying home for a while enjoying her new baby boy Stephane Alain (French spelling). He was born on July 24th 2007 at 9:57 pm and weighed 8 pounds 3 ounces and 21" in length. All are doing well.
06/14/2007 - Former National Blade Accepted to Western Michigan University Synchronized Skating team.
    Laura Mapes is attending Western Michigan University (WMU) in Grand Rapids Michigan. The university has selected her as a member of the WMU Collegiate Synchronized Skating team. Congratulations to her as she is the first National Blade to ever be accepted on a college level synchro team. Way to go Laura!
